About Us

We Support Youth & Young Talent

We are a group of passionate young people who have experienced change and transformation through the power of coaching and mentoring. Through PL9 and Youth Community Impact Awards, we are taking a bold step to give back to our local communities by using our gifts, talents and skills to help the generations coming up after us. In the past 7 years, we have established a legacy for being a voice of change and empowerment for youth in our local communities especially those of ethnic minority descent. Our team consists of former members of PL9 who are now at the forefront of tackling critical issues affecting young people, such as drugs and alcohol, teenage pregnancy, misrepresentation of black youths, knife crime, bullying, low self-esteem, racism, poverty, illiteracy, lack of equal opportunities, youth unemployment, police stop & search, youth justice, housing, homelessness and health-promotion. We work with a variety of professional organizations, to enrich and transform the lives of young people. We don’t just work, we also play. Every year we organize a community talent showcase to reward gifted young people who use their skills, gifts and talent to enhance their communities. We bring in local celebrities, leaders in sports and music, politicians, entrepreneurs, authors and community champions to speak at our different events in order inspire our aspiring youth.

Juliet Lamin founded the Youth Community Impact Awards to honour and recognize young people in the community who have achieved laudable goals. The awards were inspired by the death of her only son, Philip, on February 5, 2013, while playing his best football game. He died as a result of an undiagnosed Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).
